Jennifer Ballard

Elizabeth Crandall aka “Elie”

Jennifer has had a passion for horses since she was a little girl.  Her family always had horses to ride, but her fire burned a little hotter for it.  She started riding lessons at 9 yrs old and got her own horse at 12yrs old.  You could say the rest was history.  Her first horse was a 2yr old by way of a dishonest horse trader so she began her training career before she even realized it!  From there she competed in the Oregon High School Equestrian team program, 4-H, open and breed shows and local gymkhana events.  She earned state championships in many different events and had opportunities to show and compete on all different breeds and disciplines.  She then went on to earn her BS degree in Equine Management from NAU in SD.  While there she showed several reining horses, worked cow horses, and competed in college rodeo in barrel racing.  After college she moved to Spokane, WA and began working for the facility she operates Supercharge Performance Horses out of.  The success that she has seen over the last 15 years is the result of an unwavering dedication to serve her clients, their horses and to keep an open mind and continue to learn and develop her skills.  She loves the people she serves, the friendships that are developed and the horses she has an opportunity to educate, train, and compete on.

Elie is Jennifer’s assistant trainer.  She began working for Jennifer in the summer of 2019.  What started out as a part time position saddling horses, began to evolve into a full time assistant trainer position that has turned out to be a great partnership that provides the full circle service you receive at Supercharge.

Elie has a background in English riding and jumping and then she started training at Supercharge during high school.  She has a quiet manner with the horses and students and takes her time with each.  She loves to learn and continues to develop her skills through lessons with Jennifer and other clinics and programs.

Elie teaches all of the beginner riders that come into the program, she helps train the training horses each day, always thirsting to learn more, and you can always count on her for a smile to make your day brighter!

The thing that stands out about Supercharge and Jenn's coaching is that it is so much more than just receiving lessons. The environment Jenn creates is comforting for those who have years of experience with horses, or who are just getting started, and you are truly given every opportunity you need to learn and grow as a rider. I have been with Jenn and Supercharge for almost 7 years now, and I would describe the connection between all the Supercharge riders as nothing less than family.  Whether it's during a lesson, on the way to a race, or on a trail ride we are constantly laughing, and I look forward to every single moment I get to spend with the Jenn and the other riders.

Everyone at Supercharge is always there to cheer you on and support you, inside of the arena and out. The most distinctive feature about Jenn's coaching is that it is truly personal to both you and your horse, helping YOU succeed and overcome your specific barriers. Her guidance during lessons is always very clear and above all, promotes confidence in the rider and horse, as well as allowing the rider and horse to establish trust. I now go into every lesson, run, and ride with confidence knowing I have the tools to be successful. If you want make incredible progress as a rider, build confidence and trust with your horse, or even just have fun, Supercharge is the best choice for you!!” - Liz Isacoff

A note from a parent: “Where do I even start? We found Jen and Supercharge Performance Horses after our daughter outgrew her program in Idaho and our son was coming off of a few bad horses, a few bad wrecks and his confidence was very much shaken. Our daughter needed to be pushed and really needed to see if she wanted to do this. Jen was a godsend. She put our son on a program of very nice and friendly horses, getting his confidence back and him finding it fun again was the priority Jen said. Our daughter was pushed beyond where she thought she could go. Her love for the sport truly took off. Jen then moved Warren up from one horse to another as his skillset increased and his confidence bloomed. Our daughter started to lower her times each weekend. Then Jen helped us find the perfect step up horse for both kids, and those horses are amazing. Jen did so much more than teach horsemanship and help with barrel times. She fostered confidence, responsibility, family, and an amazing team culture in her barn that is second to none. She has taught our kids the value of hard work, how you handle setback, how you get your mind right to compete and how you have fun doing it all. I can’t recommend her program enough!” - Jamie Birch
